How To Unleash The Full Potential Of Witch Minion Build In Path Of Exile 2? – Skills, Gear & Setup

Hello, minion lovers, are you still looking for a suitable build to help you better complete the first three acts in Path of Exile 2? If so, then don’t miss our guide to the best Witch Minion Build. This build can not only deal with every boss in POE 2 without any problems, but it has the potential to be even more powerful if you have enough POE 2 Currency and are willing to invest and equip it with better gear.

In this guide, we will go into detail about everything, including all the skills used by this build, their related Support Gems, and how they work together to create synergies. We will also share some armor and weapons worth choosing, as well as Passive Skill Tree path that ties the build together.

Honestly, this setup will definitely allow you to dominate the early games of POE 2, and this setup doesn’t show any signs of slowing down as you progress further. Now, let’s dive in and unleash the full potential of this minion-based build.

Skills

Starting with the skills, I recommend picking these up early. These skills and their support gems will help you get through Acts 1 and 2 smoothly, making leveling up and boss fights a breeze.

Skeletal Warrior

The first core skill in this Witch Minion build is Skeletal Warrior, which is our main tank minion. This skill is unlocked by equipping Spectre, and it allows you to summon a Skeletal Warrior to fight alongside you.

You can choose to use Mind Blow Rattling Spectre, as it increases Spirit by 31%. Spirit is crucial in this build, as it determines the maximum number of minions you can summon at once. It is recommended that you aim for a Spectre that can boost Spirit and scale Skeletal Warrior to its maximum level, as Skeletal Warrior is a must-have part of all stages of this build.

For the support gems, once you have linked Meat Shield and Field, this increases the health of Skeletal Warrior by 50%, making them more durable, but at the cost of 35% less damage. This is a good trade-off, as their primary role is to fend off enemies and protect you.

In addition, you can also add Elemental Army, which provides a 30% boost to elemental resistance, further increasing their durability. With these two support gems, your Skeletal Warrior will easily absorb damage and prevent enemies from getting to you.

Summon Infernal Hound

Next, we have Summon Infernal Hound, which is unlocked after completing Infernalist Ascendancy in Act 2. You can’t get this skill early, so I recommend completing Trials of Ascendancy as soon as possible to unlock it. Don’t forget to take advantage of POE 2 Regal Orbs before you start to upgrade your gear and add random affixes to it to cast your character’s maximum potential, so you can come out on top in the dangerous Trials!

Infernal Hound is a free-cast pet that doesn’t cost any Spirit, making it a solid addition to your army. These Hounds deal decent damage and are very durable, even applying Ignite to nearby enemies. Ignite is a fire damage ailment that lasts 4 seconds. Hounds also automatically revive after a brief delay after being killed, making them extremely resilient.

For support gems, Magnified Effect is a definite top choice, expanding the fire area of  effect by 40%, allowing Infernal Hound to set fire to more enemies. Alternatively, you can go for Last Gasp Gem, which allows Hound to survive an additional 4 seconds after reaching 0 health, ensuring you always have this powerful minion with you.

Skeletal Sniper

For ranged support, Skeletal Sniper performs very well, firing Gas Arrows that synergize perfectly with Ignite. When Ignite interacts with Gas Arrow, it causes a devastating explosion that deals significant area damage.

If you link this skill with Corrosion, this causes gas bombs to rain down from the sky, dealing poisonous gas damage and damaging enemy armor. What’s more, gas bombs stack, shredding armor and amplifying damage from minions and spells.

For enhanced range coverage, adding Scattershot reduces Archers’ damage by 20%, but allows them to fire two additional projectiles. This ensures that your sniper hits multiple enemies at once, maximizing its effectiveness.

Raise Zombie

Now let’s talk about Raise Zombie, which summons up to 10 Tank Zombies for 20 seconds. These zombies are very durable and can deal a ton of damage. If you link this skill with Perpetual Charge, this has a 35% chance to not consume a charge when summoning zombies, ensuring even more uptime.

For support gems, Minion Instability is a must-have. Because when these zombies’ health drops below 35%, they explode, dealing 15% of their maximum health as fire damage to nearby enemies. With 10 zombies present, this deals massive area damage as they start to fall.

Raging Spirits

For added offensive power, it’s also wise to run Raging Spirits, which summons up to 10 short-lived Flaming Skulls. These spirits deal a mix of physical and fire damage, converting 70% of physical damage to fire damage.

It’s worth noting that if you link Fire Infusion, this can increase their fire damage by 25%. The synergy between these Raging Spirits and your other fire minions is great for clearing adds and focusing on bosses.

Flame Wall

If you want to further amp up your offensive capabilities, you can also use Flame Wall, a useful skill that creates a wall of fire that ignites enemies and amplifies the damage of projectiles when they pass through it.

For a support gem, link it with Fortress Gem, which can turn Flame Wall into a circular area that focuses damage within its radius. This makes it easier to control the battlefield and maximize fire damage output.

Pain Offering

Next, let’s look at Pain Offering, an exceptional skill that impales Skeleton with a bone spike, which will send nearby minions into a frenzy for as long as the bone spike is up. While frenzying, your minions will use their skills faster and deal more damage. This skill enhances a lot of your skills, making them attack 25% faster and more deadly on the battlefield.

Bonestorm

The main core skill of this build is Bonestorm, a powerful skill that summons a group of bone spikes. These bone spikes will rain down and explode, dealing heavy area damage. Once you combine this skill with Minion Pact, you can sacrifice a portion of your minions’ life to increase Bonestorm’s damage by 40%. Since you can constantly summon so many minions, you will always benefit from this buff.

For support gems, Deep Freeze’s utility is very obvious, and it has a 50% chance to freeze enemies, which further enhances its utility.

How To Choose The Best Equipment?

For equipment, like we said before, we need to focus on items that increase Spirit, as this directly determines how many minions you can summon. If the stats of your existing equipment are not impressive, it is recommended that you use Chaos Orbs to re-scale, which is essential for your Witch Minion build.

Secondly, you need to look for equipment that provides intelligence, casting speed, maximum life, and mana. For defensive stats, such as armor, resistance, and life recovery on kills, you also need to consider them, which are the key to your survival.

Passive Skill Tree Setup

For your passive tree, it is recommended that you prioritize those nodes that increase minion damage, life, and survivability, and you can enhance your skills by increasing their attack and casting speeds and range of effect. You can also pick up stat nodes such as Strength and Dexterity according to the equipment requirements. Finally, consider equipping cooldown recovery nodes to ensure smooth skill rotation.

In short, this build setup is beginner-friendly, powerful, and fun to play. Whether you want to easily crush enemies on the battlefield, or tank all the damage of a super boss and survive smoothly to the end, this build can meet your needs! That’s it, see you next time!
